The Ancient City Game Fish Association (ACGFA)

The Ancient City Game Fish Association (ACGFA) was organized in 1958. We currently have approximately 130 Members, 6 Honorary Members, and 9 Lifetime Members. Our membership year is from June 1st to May 30th. Dues are $50 a year for a Membership. For new members only, dues are ½ price from December 1st to May 30th.  Membership forms may be found in the "About Us" tab above.

The purposes of this organization are to promote the sport of fishing in this area and do whatever is in our power to improve fishing grounds and facilities in the area.

The ACGFA is very family oriented. We have annual fishing awards for Boats-of-the-Year (inshore and offshore) and Anglers-of-the-Year (Men, Women, Junior (age 8 to 16) and Small-fry (7 and under).

In addition, there are fishing tournaments for various species almost every month as well as two fish fry/cook-out events, a Christmas Party for the family, and the End of Year Awards/Membership Dinner. Our meetings are conducted at the St. Augustine Shrine Club, 250 Brainard Dr., St. Augustine, Florida. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. with a social hour and the general meeting starts at 7:30. We usually have snacks and a speaker and a "Kids Club" for young anglers. Guests are welcome.

Officers and Board of Directors are:

President: Matt Morse - Vice-President: Russ Luker - Treasurer: Ruth Jordan - Secretary:  Joyce Luker

Board Members: Kevin Baptiste, Kevin Thomas, Becky Howell, Jason Schofield, and Rick Mackey

Anyone that missed the Christmas Party missed a great time.  There were many members, children and guests there and, of course Santa and Mrs. Claus. Many thanks to Harry and Marie Frantz and to Santa’s helpers for making Santa’s visit a great time for the children (young and old). Thanks also to all who cooked the meat and sides, brought appetizers and desserts, they were delicious. Thanks to the kitchen and decorating crews for their hard work.  Workers were: Jason Schofield, Rick Mackey, Allen and Melissa Pitcock, Eddie Gatchell, Matt Morse, Chip & Tammie Whitfield, Russ and Joyce Luker, Becky Howell, and Trudy DuPont.
