About Us

Ancient City Game Fish Association

The purpose of the ACGFA is to promote the sport of fishing in our area, to be a leading force in improving fishing grounds and facilities and continue to promote conservation of our local waters.

Many people know of the Andy King reef located in 70 feet of water not far offshore but are unaware that this 40-acre site was created and paid for by the Club in Andy’s name. Several years ago, ACGFA added additional material to a portion of this site, which is named in honor of a well-known and longtime Club member, Jim Blalock. Another section of our site is dedicated to the placement of reef balls, whereby families can place the ashes of loved ones in a reef ball. For details as to how you can participate in this program, please see our website.

ACGFA was founded in 1958. We are a family-oriented group who enjoy fishing and good fellowship. Our dues are $65 per year per family, we meet on the third Tuesday of every month, usually at the St. Augustine Shrine Club. We have a social gathering starting at 6:00 pm which typically includes dinner, and our meeting starts at 7:00. We have speakers on some aspect of fishing, boating, or water safety every month. Guests are always welcome! We have in-club tournaments on a monthly basis, and boat of the year competitions for both inshore and offshore anglers. We also have Women’s, Junior and Men’s Angler of the Year contests. We welcome any and all new members!
