FISH CARD INFORMATION GUIDE.  Section numbers are from the 2009-2010 Rules
SECTION E – ENTRY FORMS:
(E-1) Each angler is required to complete an ACGFA Official Fish Entry Form, obtain a signature of the person 
observing the weight or the release and MAIL to “ACGFA, P.O. Box 200 1, St. Augustine, FL 32085-2001”.  
The angler is responsible for the cards’ preparation, accuracy and mail-in.  Cards received without entries in the 
“Fish Species”, “Weight”, “Angler’s Name”, or “Date” blanks will be disqualified.  If the fish is caught from a 
non-member’s boat please enter the boat name and “non-member” or “N/M”.  If the fish is not caught from 
a boat, please enter: shore, beach, pier, dock, etc.
How to fill out the Official Fish Entry Form Each space with comments are listed below:    
   
"Fish Species"  Each species eligible for ACGFA year-end tournaments are listed below and in Sections B & C of 
  the rules. It helps if you use the name listed, however, you may use other names as long as they 
  are commonly used. i.e. "Red Drum" or "Spotted Bass" for "Redfish"  
  A Grouper must be identified as a "Black or Gag" or if another type enter "Other"  
   
"Weight" Weight should be entered as "10 lb 12 oz" or "10.75 lb" if your entry is 10.12 it will be entered 
  exactly that way.  If the bait shop enters it differently, please add that it is "oz" or a "decimal".
  If Billfish or Tarpon Release enter "Release" and any other info you deem important.  
   
"Length" Please enter the length ("Overall" or "Fork" length as required by species)   
   
"Angler's Name" Enter the angler's name as you want it to be shown on an award. Use the same angler's name  
  on all cards for that angler. If the angler's is not an ACGFA Member, enter the angler's name and 
   add "N/M" or "Non-Member" and do not complete the category section below.  
   
"Date" This should be the date the fish is caught.  If cards are sumbitted with more than  
  the legal limit of fish., i.e. 2 Redfish with the same angler and date, the smaller fish will not count.  
  If the the fish were caught on different dates mark the card with the dates the fish were caught.
   
"Time" Only used during some club tournaments and billfish & tarpon releases to break ties.  
   
"Captain's Name" Club Member who owns the boat.  
   
"Location of Scales" Name of the Bait & Tackle Shop, Fish Camp, Seafood Market, Tournament or other   
  location where the fish was weighed  
   
"Witness" Name of the person that witnessed the weight or release of the fish.  
   
"Boat Name" Enter the boat's name as you want it to be shown on an award.  If not an ACGFA Members boat 
  add "N/M" or "Non-Member"  
   
"Men" & "Women" Mark if angler is an ACGFA Member and 16 years or older.  
   
"Junior" (8-15) Mark if angler is an ACGFA Member and 8 to 15 years old.  
   
"Child" (under 8) (Small-Fry) Mark if angler is an ACGFA Member and 7years or younger  
   
"Tournament" Enter the Tournament name if the fish is to be entered in an ACGFA Club Tournament or if 
  the fish was weighed during a tournament conducted in St Augustine or St Augustine is the 
  check-out point (See paragraph D-2 of the rules)      
Note.  If a Junior or Small-Fry angler has a birthday which changes their category, he or she will continue to fish 
 in the category he or she started in for the remainder of the fishing year (thru April 30th).  
(E-2) They must be post-marked not later than seven (7) calendar days after the fish is caught or released. 
 In order to establish when the cards are submitted, all cards must be mailed.  
Comments:The angler is responsible for the cards’ preparation and mail-in. They must be postmarked not later than 
7 calendar days after the catch date. i.e., If the is July 1st add 7 days therefore the postmark must be not later than July 8th
(E-3) Releases of Tarpon and Billfish must be reported using the ACGFA card.  Enter “Release” in the “Weight” 
block of the card.  The estimated weight and length or other information may also be entered.
Comments:Comments may include info such as length, est. weight or type of tackle used or if the first billfish or tarpon caught. 
(E-4) Fish caught during tournaments located in St. Augustine will count provided an ACGFA Fish Entry Card is 
submitted and “Location of Scales” block so indicate.  The angler is responsible for the cards’ preparation and 
mail-in.  The seven day rule in (E-2) above applies.  NOTE: Exceptions to this rule will be announced by the 
Tournament Chairman.

Comments:  If a club member catches a fish from a non-members boat, the fish will count for -- 
Angler-of-the-Month, Angler-of-the-Year, Releases (Conservation Award), and Club Records.
If a non-member catches a fish from a members boat, the fish will count for Boat-of-the-Year
SECTION B – BOARD SPECIES AND MINIMUM WEIGHTS:  Minimum Weights are established in order to   
reduce the number of fish killed and weighed-in solely to receive points.  Any conflict with Federal, State and/or county
regulations those regulations will apply.  Fish entered that do not meet the minimum weight will not count.  Minimum weights 
apply to the Men and Women categories only.  They do not apply to the Junior or Small-fry categories, however, they must 
meet all minimum length requirements.  Unless stated otherwise, the minimum weights apply to all ACGFA members’ only 
tournaments. Species and minimum weights of fish that may be weighed-in for the ACGFA year-end and angler-of-the-month 
tournaments are listed below. (Added is "Limit Per Day")

SECTION C – RELEASED FISH:  
(C-1) To qualify as a “Released” fish, the angler must bring the fish to the boat, i.e., leader in hand.  Tagging, with 
accepted tags, is optional.  The fish must not be boated, gaffed, or otherwise damaged.  Measuring length 
and girth, or actions taken to identify the species is permitted. 
(C-2) “Released” fish count for “Angler-of-the-Month” points and the “Conservation Award”.  Species of fish 
that count for the “Release” category are:   BLUE MARLIN - WHITE MARLIN - SAILFISH - SWORDFISH - TARPON
