STRIKING FISH TOURNAMENT - 2003 DATES: April 26 – 27(Weather Days May, 3 - 4)
LET’S GO FISHING AND HAVE FUN
FISHING: This tournament is an ACGFA “members only” tournament. Entrants must be an ACGFA member in good standing. This tournament is a “Boat Tournament,” anglers are fishing for the boat. Winnings go to the boat that the fish are caught on. Anglers must fish in local waters. Federal State, and/or County fishing laws and regulations always apply.
SAFETY: SAFETY IS ALWAYS FIRST. Safety is paramount; Captains are responsible for the safe and legal operation of their boats at all times.
QUALIFYING FISH: Fishes that are eligible for this tournament are: Marlin (Release only), Sailfish (Release only), Spanish Mackerel, Bonito, Dolphin, Kingfish, Tuna, and Wahoo. Fish must be caught on hook and line, and landed in whole condition. Fish must be of legal length, bag and possession limits. Weighing in of a fish that is not legal will result in disqualification from the tournament. Mutilated fish will not be weighted.
RADIO: The tournament channel for this tournament is VHF channel 72. Captains are reminded that they must have an operational VHF radio on board their boat to fish this tournament.
CHECK OUT/IN: Check out and check in will be by VHF radio, channel 72. Check out time is 6:00 AM, and check in is 6:00 PM both days. All boats fishing the tournament must check out and in.
WEIGH IN: Weigh-in will be conducted at the Camachee Cove Marina weigh station from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm both days. Weigh Station will close at 6:00 p.m. Any boat not physically inside Camachee Cove Marina and in sight of the Weighmaster at 6:00 p.m. is considered late and their fish will not count.
AWARDS: Five points for a Marlin (Release), four points for a Sailfish (Release), and three points will be awarded for the heaviest; two points will be awarded for the second, and one point for third heaviest weighed-in fish in each of the other categories. The point system will decide the top three Boats for this tournament. $600 will be awarded to the 1st ($300), 2nd ($200), and 3rd ($100) place top boats. Time of release or earliest weigh-in will decide the winner of a tie. Awards will be presented at the club’s Membership Party in June. There is always a possibility the club might present one of its' prestigious BLOOPER Awards if there are any anglers’ that are able to qualify.
PROTEST: Protest will be settled by the Tournament Chairman. The Tournament Chair’s decision is final.
ENTRY FEE: Entry fee is $25.00 per boat. There is a 10-boat minimum for this tournament.
WEATHER: If there is a need to call the tournament because of weather, announcement will be made on VHF radio 72. An alternate weather day is scheduled for 3 - 4 May. Captains are reminded that they are responsible for the safety of their boat and crew always.
