Our Next Meeting. The next meeting will be Tuesday, August 21st at the St Augustine Shrine Club, 250 1st St.  Our meetings are on the 3rd Tuesday of each month unless notified otherwise.  The Shriners have a very nice facility overlooking Moultrie Creek.  They have adequate parking across from the building and operate a bar for us with donations for Drinks @ $3.00 and Beer @ $2.00 proceeds go to their Burn Hospitals fund.  Social 6:30 -  Meeting 7:30.

Last Month’s Meeting:  No meeting in July.

This Month’s Program:  Donna Frantz will report on the Kingfish Challenge. The final numbers are not in yet.  Chairpersons Donna Frantz and James & Linda Manucy and their crew are to be commended for a very successful tournament. The results are posted on the web site.  Congratulations to all volunteers who did an outstanding job and to our club members who fished the tournament.  It was great to see some new faces along with the guys and gals who are always there when the club needs their help.  Thanks again!

Snacks:  Donna Westbrook will provide snacks this month.

Membership Drawing:   Be there this month to win $100.  You must be present to win. It pays to attend the meetings.

Raffle:   This month Dave and Bob will have another great raffle which may include Cooler, Lure Bags/Tackle Boxes, Rods & Reels and other great items.

Club Shirts, Etc.:   Wil & Teeka have some great colors now. Fishing Hats are here. They have ACGFA Shirts and some Tank Tops, Kingfish Challenge Shirts, Rig Bags, and Towels for sale depending on what was left over from the Tournament. Teeka is taking special orders for Christmas gifts now.

Nomination of Officers:  This is the time for nomination of club officers which are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and 5 Directors (the Past President also serves as a Director).  The Board operates the club’s business and is very important to the club.  We also need a volunteer for chairmen of in-club tournaments.  Step up and volunteer, it is a very rewarding experience and you get to work with some great people.

HELP WANTED:  Kids Club Coordinator.  Stephanie Jackon did a great job last year keeping our young anglers occupied with fun & games.  She will not be the coordinator this year so we need a replacement.  The job involves arts and crafts, games, and other activities for the kids.  Also, if the snacks aren’t kid friendly we will provide  alternate food (i.e. Pizza). If interested, please let John Jordan know at the meeting.

Great job Steven and Blake!!  Catches include cards received from July 4th thru July 26th.  Cards received after July 26th will count for the August Angler-of-the-Month.  See the complete list of cards turned-in attached.  Please remember to complete all spaces on the entry form and mail it not more than seven (7) days after the catch.  We’ve had several late and/or with incomplete information (no angler name, see below).  Read Section E of the Fishing Rules for Entry Form information.

Upcoming Tournaments and Events:  See enclosed Calendar.  Wil Franke is our new In-club Tournament Chairman. Thanks Wil

Shrine Club Fishing Tournament is September 1st.  You can sign up at the August meeting.  We will also include one paid entry in our raffle.  Please support the Shriners, they really support our club.

Young Anglers Tournament:  The final results are not in because I went to Alaska and have not entered the cards received after July 26th.  Entries as of July 26th are included in this newsletter.  Prizes will be awarded at the September meeting.

KFC Tournament Entry Cards:  We will enter your Kingfish caught during the Junior KFC.  We do not have Angler information available for Kingfish weighed in during the general tournament or at the King Buster, so if you want your fish entered you need to submit a Fish Entry Card.  You can mail them or bring them to the August meeting and we will accept them.

B.S. (Bait Shop)Tournament:  John Jordan is working very hard  on the tournament which will be September 22nd with our Annual Fall Fish Fry.  Posters are in the Bait Shops now a Draft Copy is attached. Mark your calendar and sign up for your favorite Bait Shop at the meeting.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE (August 2007)

(The editor wrote this based on John’s input. Any mistakes or omissions are the editor’s)

If you have not paid your 2007-2008 dues, they were due June 1st.  If your Mailing Label was printed in RED you were members last year but our records show you have not renewed your memberships yet.  We need all of you back so please mail or bring your dues to the meeting.  Your fish don’t count if your dues are not paid.

NO PAY, NO WEIGH.

John
