Our Next Meeting . The next meeting will be Tuesday, August 19th at the St Augustine Shrine Clubi, 250 1st St.  Our meetings are on the 3rd Tuesday of each month unless notified otherwise.  The Shriners have a very nice facility overlooking Moultrie Creek.  Social 6:30 -  Meeting 7:30.

Last Month’s Meeting:  No meeting in July.

This Month’s Program:  David Chapman will report on the Kingfish Challenge. The final numbers are not in yet.  Chairpersons Joe Noda, David Chapman, and John Jordan and their crew are to be commended for a very successful tournament. The results are posted on the web site.  Congratulations to all volunteers who did an outstanding job and to our club members who fished the tournament.  It was great to see some new faces along with the guys and gals who are always there when the club needs their help.  Thanks again!

Membership Drawing:  Be there this month to win $100.  You must be present to win.   It pays to attend the meetings.

Raffle:  This month David and Rick  will have another great raffle which may include Cooler, Lure Bags/Tackle Boxes, Rods & Reels and other great items.

Club Shirts, Etc.:   Wil & Teeka have some great colors now. Fishing Hats are here. They have ACGFA Shirts and some Tank Tops, Kingfish Challenge Shirts, Rig Bags, and Towels for sale depending on what was left over from the Tournament. Teeka is taking special orders for Christmas gifts now.

Nomination of Officers:  This is the time for nomination of club officers which are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and 5 Directors (the Past President also serves as a Director).  The Board operates the club’s business and is very important to the club.  Step up and volunteer, it is a very rewarding experience and you get to work with some great people.

Fishing Information

A reminder, only dues paid members may submit entries.  The “grace” period ended at the Membership Party.

Year-end and In-Club Tournament Spread Sheets: Because the Newsletter is limited to 5 pages because of the postage expense and there is so much information required to report the club’s year-end and in-club tournamentsthere are no Spread Sheets included in the Newsletter. There is now a page with the Year-End Tournament Standings and a page with the In-Club Tournament Standings. The Spread Sheets with entries and scoring are now posted on the web-site (acgfa.com).  They are under the link “Fishing Reportlocated in the left column of the “home page”.  They are grouped as “Year-End Tournaments” and “In-Club Tournaments”. If there are members without a computer or access to the web, please let me know and we will work out a solution.

Upcoming Tournaments and Events:  See enclosed Calendar.

Young Anglers Tournament:  The final results are in and prizes will be awarded at the August meeting.

July Angler-of-the-Month: Brian Sousa, Jr: There were 119 entry cards from 22 anglers this month.  There were 16 species of fish entered.  Congratulations to July Angler-of-the-Month Brian Sousa, Jr:.  Brian caught a 6.63 lb Redfish (1st place Juniors ),  2.10, 1.50, &1.40 lb Pompey Drum (1st, 2nd & 3th place Juniors & 1st & 2nd Largest of Month), 6.63, 5.00 & 1.50 lb Flounders (1st, 2nd & 4th place Juniors & Largest of Month), 1.81 lb Trout (1st place Juniors), and Released a Sailfish for a total of 1,075 points.  Great job Brain.  Catches include cards received from June 29th thru July 31st.  Cards received after July 31st will count for the August Angler-of-the-Month.  See the complete list of cards turned-in attached.

.  HELP - We’ve had several entry cards that were late and/or with incomplete information (no angler name, under minimum weight, over the possession limit, wrong species,  cards submitted by members that have not paid their 08-09 dues, etc.).  I have inclosed an Fish Card Information Guide to help you make sure your fish cards will count.

B.S. (Bait Shop)Tournament:  John Jordan is working very hard  on the tournament which will be September 20th with our Annual Fall Fish Fry.  Posters are in the Bait Shops now a Copy is attached. Mark your calendar and sign up for your favorite Bait Shop at the meeting.

Kingfish Challenge Tournament :  Chairpersons Joe Noda, David Chapman, and John Jordan and their crew are to be commended for a very successful Tournament. Donna Frantz, and James & Linda Manucy are also commended for a very successful Junior Tournament. Even though the number of entries were down on the General Tournament (07 = 242 boats & 08 = 159), the Junior Tournament was (07 = 168 & 08 = 162). The results are posted on the web site.  Congratulations to all volunteers who did an outstanding job and to our club members who fished the tournament.  It was great to see some new faces along with the guys and gals who are always there when the club needs their help.  Thanks again!
