Snacks: Jim and Rene Blalock provided Pulled Pork Sanwiches, Chips, and Slaw.  It was all gone so I guess it was good!!

Holiday Baskets: We collected non-perishable food items to distribute to local needy families. You must be present to win.  At the Christmas Party, we will draw for $200 until there is a winner.  It pays to attend the meetings.

Fishing Information

JuNovemberne Angler-of-the-Month: Joe Noda: TThere were only 1137 entry cards from 19 7 anglers this month.   There were 5 species of fish entered. Congratulations to Ju November Angler-of-the-Month Joe Noda who beat out Steven Blalock who also had 200 points but caught his Cobia and submitted his entry later than Joe.  ne Angler-of-the-Month Max Pechstein.  Max  Joe caught a a 3.75 lbs Bluefish 6.50 lb Trout (1st place Mens & largest of the Month) for a total of 200 points. (1st place Juniors & 2nd Largest of Month), 3.50 lb Sheepshead (1st place Juniors & Largest of Month), & 3.68 lb Flounder (1st place Juniors & 2nd Largest of Month) for a total of 550 points.  Great job Max Robert.!!  Catches include cards received from June1st October 26th thru 30thNovember 30th. .  Cards received after November 30th June 30th will count for the July November Angler-of-the-Month.  See the complete list of cards turned-in attached.  Remember, Angler-of-the-Month is awarded 100 bonus points which count toward the Angler-of-the-Year.

Please remember to complete all spaces on the entry form and mail it not more than seven (7) days after the catch.  We’ve had several late and/or with incomplete information and several that do not meet Minimum weight requirements.

Club Record Size Flounder:  Scott Shank brought his 18lb 2oz Flounder to the meeting to show us.  Chip Owen is going to mount the fish for Scott.  Scott gigged the flounder therefore it will not break the club record 12lb 11oz flounder caught by Jeff Johnson in 2004-2005. The flounder was not weighed until late afternoon the day after it was caught or it would have been even heavier.  Great fish Scott!!

Upcoming Tournaments and Events:  The In-Club Kingfish Tournament will be July 15th. Weigh-in is at the Marlin Scales from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  The Young Anglers Tournament  is July 1st thru July 31st.  Attached are rules.

KFC Tournament Entry Cards:  We will enter Kingfish caught during the Junior KFC.  We do not have Angler information available for Kingfish weighed in during the general tournament, so if you want your fish entered you need to submit a Fish Entry Card.  You can mail them or bring them to the meeting and we will accept them.

A reminder, only dues paid members may submit entries.  The “grace” period ended at the Membership Party.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE (July 2006)

(The editor wrote this based on Donna’s input. Any mistakes or omissions are the editor’s)

Annual membership dinner and year-end awards:  Donna gave special thanks to David & Liana Chapman, Bill Kline, Bert  & Brenda Walton, John & Michele Waldron, John & Ruth Jordan,James & Linda Manucy, Pierre & Anita Pierce, David & Evi Bruster, Carmel Cunningham, and Stephanie Burt.  I’m sure there are others and they are appreciated and were not left out intentionally.  It was a great event!

Thank-you to all the members that assisted with the Kingfish Challenge Tournament!  This is only a 10 page newsletter so there is not room to list everyone that worked so hard.  We will have a recap at the July Meeting (July 18th).  Except for the weather, it went very smoothly and comments received were very good.

If you have not paid your 2006-2007 dues, they were due June 1st.  We have 51 Families paid, 24 Singles paid, and 5 Life Members.  Approximately 20 are new members.  Welcome aboard!  The bad news is there are 51 Families and 34 Singles who were members last year that have not renewed their memberships yet.  We need all of you back so please mail or bring your dues to the meeting.  Your fish don’t count if your dues are not paid.

Fishing First and Safety Always!

Donna
