Last Months Meeting: was at Bozard Ford's new location on SR 16. There was a fine turnout. Bozard Ford has
been a Major Sponsor of the Kingfish Challenge for several years. The food, beer and wine were
great. There were door prizes (gift
certificates by ACGFA and oil changes & car washes donated by Bozard),
winners were: Jason Schofield, Wade Drury, Jaymie
Burres, Alexis Mackey, Chip Whitfield, Stan Yekalos, Mark Hager, John Ford, &

May Angler-of-the Month
– Mike Colee.
There were 42 entry cards
from 18 anglers this month. Congratulations to Angler-of-the-Month Mike
Colee. Mike caught 2 Flounder 3.0
lbs & 2.6 lbs (2nd, & 3rd Place Mens and 2nd Largest of the Month), a
18.38 lb Gouper (Blk & Gag)(1st Place Mens and Largest of the Month)and a 5.0
lb Redfish (1st Place Mens and 2nd Largest of the Month) for a total of 500
points. Great job Mike! This months cut-off was May 1st thru May 27th.
Cards
received after May 27th will count on next
months June
Angler-of-the-Month. See below
for list of all catches.
Cobia Tournament: There was a misprint in the Cobia Tournament
Rules. This was a “Boat” tournament but
the “Awards” paragraph incorrectly stated “prize structure” was for top three
“fish” and that awards would be presented to “top three anglers”. Correction: Awards will be presented
at the August meeting to the top three boats that weighed the
three heaviest cobia. Click here for Standings.
Sorry for any confusion.
Bluewater
tournament. The club owes a big THANK YOU to the ACGFA crew that worked during the Bluewater
Tournament. The tournament was fished May 17 thru 22. We manned the radio and
weigh station for all 5 days and the boats fished any three of the five fishing
adys. Thirty-three boats fished and in addition to
the weighed fish, there were 1 White Marlin and 4 Sailfish released during the
tournament. We had 18 ACGFA volunteers
who helped support the Northeast Florida Marlin Association conduct their
tournament. You did a great job. The Marlin Club was very pleased with our
service. My personal thanks
goes to all who helped and
volunteered. – Jim
Blalock
Ladies Tournament ended April 30th. Click
Here for the final
results. Fish cards for
fish caught on April 30th must be postmarked not later
than May 7th. Final results and awards may
be made at the Membership & Awards Party
