MEETING INFORMATION
Membership and Awards Party - June 21st:
It’s time everyone starts thinking
about a theme for our membership party. There will be group competition for
groups of 3 or more. Some themes we’ve used in the past were: Sports,
Most Patriotic, Fishing Hat, Chef’s Apron, and others. We will discuss at the meeting this month. Make
your plans now and RSVP at 904 827-1013.
Spring Cookout: If you missed it shame on you. It was great and we had a large turn-out. Thanks
go to LeRoy and Wanda Kinlaw and their crew who provided the BBQ
Chicken and Pork with all the trimmings. Also thanks go to all members who
brought desserts. They were great and
plenty of them.
Program: A representative from West Marine
will be our speaker.
Raffle: David Chapman & Rick Emert had a great
raffle, rods & reels, knife set, life vests, etc. This month David & Rick will have another great raffle.
Membership Drawing: Ronnie Lyles name was drawn (again)
and he was not present (again) for the $100 drawing. It pays to attend
the meetings and parties. Be at the next meeting for the $150 drawing.
You must be present to win!
Club Shirts, Etc.:
Wil & Teeka are handling the T-shirts sales. They have
some great colors now. Let them know what you want and they will try to get
them for you.
Membership Information: NOTICE: Membership year is June 1st thru May 31st. Dues are $50.00 for a family and $30.00 for individual
memberships. Guests are always welcome.
Upcoming Tournaments
and Events: The Ladies Tournament ended
April 30th. Standing are note complete
due to mailing time for entry cards. The Striking
Fish Tournament scheduled for 10 May was cancelled due to only 2 boats
entered. The In-Club Kingfish Tournament
is June 28th. Rules are attached.
Help Wanted: Kingfish
Challenge (KFC), (July 11 thru 13). If you are not fishing the
tournament, please sign up to help. We also need your help working two non-club
Tournaments. We assist the Northeast Florida Marlin Association’s Bluewater
Tournament (May 20th thru 24th) and the Kingbuster
Classic (June 5th thru 7th) by providing help operating the Radio
Base, Weigh Station, Fish Cleaning, and Boat Handling, etc. Contact Jim
Blalock (904) 501-1447 or sign up at the meeting.

Fishing Year Ends
& Rule Changes: This years 2007–2008 year-end
tournaments closed on April 30th and the new year started May
1st. The information
included in this Newsletter is not final.
We will allow 7 days for postmarks and an additional 3 days for mail
delivery. If there are any descrepancies please contact me at 904-501-1447 NOW.
Final results will be posted to the
web-site on or about May 15th. 2008/2009
Fishing Rules which are effective May 1st, are now posted on the web-site.
April Angler-of-the Month – Steven
Blalock. There were 49 entry cards from 17 anglers this
month. Congratulations to Angler-of-the-Month Steven Blalock . Steven caught 2
Black Sea Bass 1.5lbs & 1.44lbs (1st Place Juniors and Largest of Month)
and (3rd Place Juniors and 2nd Largest of Month), and 4.81lb & 4.63lb Red
Snappers (2nd and 3rd Place Juniors and 2nd Largest of Month), for a total of
525 points. Great job Steven. Cut-off was March 25th thru April 28th. Cards received after April
28th will count on next months May Angler-of-the-Month. See enclosed list of all catches received.
Spring Kickoff Tournament: Prizes were presented to the winners at the April
meeting: 1st Deedo Nelson, 650 pts,
$300; 2nd Mike Colee, 550 pts $200;
3rd Scott Shank 125 pts $100. Good job!!! Results are attached.
